Admissions & Enrollment

Hans Christian Andersen Montessori School enrolls children ages 2 years, 9 months through Kindergarten.

We believe that choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family will make. Our admissions process is designed to help families learn about Montessori education, experience our school community, and determine whether HCAMS is the right fit for their child.

Applications are accepted throughout the year. Completed applications received prior to our admissions review period are considered during the upcoming admissions cycle.

The Admissions Process

1. Submit an Inquiry

Complete our online inquiry form or email the school office (admin@hcams.org) to learn more about our program, schedule, tuition, and availability.

   2. Attend Our Montessori Showcase & Open House

Each fall, we invite prospective families to our annual Montessori Showcase & Open House. This event provides an opportunity to:

• Observe current students engaged in Montessori work

• Tour our classroom

• Meet some of our teachers

• Learn about the Montessori philosophy

• Speak with current HCAMS families

• Ask questions about our programs and admissions process

Families who are unable to attend are welcome to schedule an individual parent visit with the Head of School.

  3. Submit an Application

Families wishing to continue with the admissions process should submit a completed application along with the non-refundable application fee of $50. To access our application form and to submit fee, click here. 

  4. Student Observation

Student observations are conducted throughout the winter and provide an opportunity for us to become acquainted with your child in a classroom setting and determine whether HCAMS is a mutually good fit for your family.

Admissions Decisions

Enrollment offers are extended in the spring following the completion of our admissions review process. Families who receive an enrollment offer will receive an Enrollment Agreement and instructions for completing the enrollment process.

Waitlist

Because enrollment is limited, qualified applicants who are not initially offered a spot in our program may be placed on a waitlist. If an opening becomes available, families will be contacted as space permits.
